What's covered?

Embrace covers the unexpected accidents and illnesses that can happen throughout your pet’s life, including:

  • Diagnostics and imaging (X-rays, ultrasounds, MRI)
  • Hospitalization, surgery, and emergency vet visits
  • Specialty care
  • Dental illnesses up to $1,000/year
  • Behavioral therapy and rehabilitation (if eligible)

Illness coverage for your pet begins after a short waiting period of 14 days. Accident coverage starts on your policy's effective date. These waiting periods prevent fraud and keep insurance affordable. Coverage for orthopedic conditions may have extended waiting periods. Check your policy documents for specific waiting periods in your state.

Yes, you can use any licensed vet or emergency clinic in the U.S. Unlike human insurance, pet insurance plans don’t have networks. Just pay your vet directly at the time of service, submit your claim through our app or online portal, and we’ll reimburse you for covered expenses according to your plan's terms.

Pre-existing conditions are injuries, illnesses, or abnormalities noticed by you or your veterinarian before your policy started, even if your pet never went to see the vet for it. Pre-existing conditions are generally not covered by pet health insurance; however, there are some pre-existing conditions that are curable, which Embrace may cover if your pet is symptom-free and treatment-free for a year.
